This creates an image of a signature, not a legally binding electronic signature. Nothing you type or draw is uploaded — everything renders locally on a canvas in your browser.

How to make a signature online

This tool gives you two ways to create a signature image. The Type mode renders your name in a handwriting or cursive-style font — choose from Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Pacifico, Sacramento, Allura, Satisfy, Homemade Apple or Caveat, adjust the colour, size and an optional slant, and it draws directly onto a canvas sized to fit your name with a transparent background. The Draw mode gives you a blank canvas you sign with a mouse, trackpad or touchscreen; strokes are smoothed with quadratic curves so the line looks natural rather than jagged, and you can undo the last stroke, clear everything, change the pen colour and width, and trim the empty transparent space around your signature automatically before downloading.

Use a typed signature when you want something clean and consistent for an email footer, a printed letter, a resume, an invoice template or a design mockup — pick a font that suits the tone, a heavier width like Sacramento or Allura reads more formal, while Caveat or Homemade Apple feel more casual and personal. Use the Draw mode when you want your actual handwriting, for example to paste over a signature line in a PDF or document image, or to match a signature you already use on paper. Both modes export a transparent PNG, so you can layer it onto any background — a white document, a coloured letterhead, or another image — without a visible box around it.

Keep in mind this is an image, not a cryptographically verified e-signature: it has no audit trail, timestamp or identity check, so it is not a substitute for a service like DocuSign when a document legally requires one. For everyday use — personal branding, email sign-offs, mockups, or signing a PDF you already control — it works well. If a typed signature looks off, try a larger size before switching fonts; most of these cursive fonts read best above 50px because the thin connecting strokes can disappear at small sizes.

Signature Generator: frequently asked questions

Is this a legally binding e-signature?

No. This tool creates an image of a signature for documents, email sign-offs, letterheads or design mockups. It does not provide identity verification, audit trails or legal e-signature compliance the way DocuSign or Adobe Sign do.

What is the best font for a cursive signature?

Great Vibes and Allura look closest to traditional handwriting, Dancing Script and Caveat look more casual, and Homemade Apple looks like pen on paper. Try a few with your own name since letter combinations render differently in each font.

Can I draw my signature instead of typing it?

Yes, switch to the Draw tab and sign with your mouse, trackpad or finger on a touchscreen. You can undo the last stroke, clear the canvas, adjust pen width and colour, and auto-trim the extra whitespace before downloading.

Does the downloaded PNG have a background?

No, both modes export a transparent PNG so you can drop the signature onto a document, PDF or image without a white box around it.

Does my name or drawing get uploaded anywhere?

No. The typed text is rendered to a canvas locally and the drawing mode captures your own pointer input, all inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
